Teen Service and Leadership Program

How We Can Help

Mentorship

Young Ladies of Elegance is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization designed to support young ladies
between the ages of 7-18 with their etiquette, apparel, appearance, academics and behavior. Mentors
are an essential part of YLOE and YMOC. They provide a positive environment for members to learn by
doing, offering guidance, and encouragement so members can develop their own positive pathway.
Mentors are advisors as well as role models, educators, life coaches, and a positive support system.

Counseling

The teenage years are challenging for teens and their parents. Teens face many new pressures and may

not always react in the healthiest ways to the problems they encounter. In some cases, teens may need

counseling to help them cope with their problems.

Some of the struggles teens face are a normal part of growing up, like dealing with peer groups,

experimenting with new ideas, and going through changes in mood, identity, and interests. Parents can

help their teens through some of these issues by talking to them, being patient with them, and creating

an environment that is structured and supportive.

Community Service

Community Service helps our youth:

1. Meet school or scouting service requirements

2. Build positive resumes for college

3. Develop into more empathetic and caring young people.

Whatever the reasons, it’s helpful to understand why learning to give back to others is fundamental

for positive youth development. With the right community service opportunities from elementary

through high school, young people can grow from an understanding of how they fit into society to

how they can help solve societal problems. The youth are our hope for tomorrow. We must invest in

our future. Young Ladies of Elegance and Young Men of Character are positive investments.

Educational Adventures

Going beyond the classroom.

Members experience leadership, educational opportunities in various formats from workshops seminars

and Cancer Awareness Galas to Texas Say What! Tobacco-Free Conferences. Members are also preparing

to host a College Trip to visit various colleges in and out of state.

Future adventures include a Summer Camp and Holiday Camp to continue to strengthen the minds of

members and ensure safety while being out of school.

Leadership Opportunities

Teens who actively engage in community service and take on leadership roles at school and in their

communities, make a real difference and contribute to a better world. Young Ladies of Elegance and

Young Men of Character guide teens through impactful community service and leadership experiences.

Young Ladies of Elegance and Young Men of Character Teen Service and Leadership Programs provide a

variety of opportunities to help teens develop as effective and engaged citizens, now.

Business Skills

Everyone graduates from high school knowing how to read, write and do basic math (hopefully). But to

be a self-sufficient adult, those skills are not enough. In fact, they’re nowhere close to enough. Advanced

skills in academic areas aren’t going to help a young adult out of every jam he is likely to face in the next

few years.

Most of those predicaments probably will have nothing to do with Shakespeare, trigonometry or world

history. What will he do when his car breaks down or he gets sick? Does she know how to navigate a job

interview or a lunch with co-workers? Is he responsible with his money?

Young Ladies of Elegance and Young Men of Character want to make sure members can take care of

themselves in the world when they are of age.

Here are some of the skills we offer to becoming an independent adult.

1. Financial Skills

2.  Leadership Skills

3. Problem-Solving Skills

4. Customer Service Skills

5. Communication Skills

6.  Assertiveness Skills

7. Emotion Regulation Skills

8. Time Management Skills

Please give what you can and help make a difference for the children in our community.
